Zev Eleff joins the podcast to discuss his recent book Authentically Orthodox: A Tradition-Bound Faith in American Life and the broader topic of the history of modern Orthodox Judaism and why it matters—both in terms of the developments in American Jewish life, and also American religion at large.
Zev Eleff is the Chief Academic Officer of Hebrew Theological College in Skokie, IL, and Associate Professor of Jewish History at Touro College. He is the author or editor of nine books, most recently Authentically Orthodox as well as Modern Orthodox Judaism: A Documentary History. Also over the past couple of months, he’s also has been teaching his course on the history of orthodox Judaism online with a series of fantastic panel discussions on the topic with leading scholars, and he’s been posting the videos on YouTube.
